Job summary

HRGO Recruitment in Bishop's Stortford is seeking a hands-on Production Planner to join a global manufacturer. You will track parts, manage production orders and support on-time delivery, liaising daily with shop floor, stores, engineering and sales to keep builds on track.

The role requires confident Excel skills, experience with SAP or similar ERP, strong inventory control, and the ability to work proactively with cross-functional teams on forecasts and scheduling.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Track and chase parts through the factory to support build targets and OTIF (on-time-in-full) delivery.
• Create, release, update and close production orders (including component pick lists).
• Maintain and audit stock accuracy across stores and factory locations.
• Lead daily perpetual inventory checks / cycle counts and investigate variances.
• Action engineering change requests and ensure planning data is kept up to date.
• Update forecasts and parts demand using planning/forecasting tools (e.g., Demand Solutions).
• Work with Sales to provide realistic lead times and accurate delivery dates.
• Provide cover/support for Logistics and Scheduling Supervisors as needed.

HRGO Recruitment (Bishop's Stortford) is recruiting for an organised, hands-on Production Planner to join a worldwide manufacturing business. If you enjoy problem-solving, keeping production flowing and working closely with the shop floor, this could be a great move.

You’ll play a key role in keeping the factory running smoothly, tracking parts, managing production orders and supporting on-time delivery to customers. You’ll liaise daily with the factory floor, inventory/stores, engineering and sales to ensure builds stay on track and delivery dates are accurate.

Skills & experience required

• Experience as a Production Planner / Scheduler / Production Controller within a manufacturing environment
• Confident Excel skills; working knowledge of SAP (or similar MRP/ERP)
• Strong inventory control experience, including cycle counts and stock investigations
• Clear communicator - comfortable working with shop floor teams, engineers and sales
• Strong IT skills; experience with forecasting/scheduling software is beneficial
• Flexible, proactive approach with a willingness to step up when needed
