Job summary

James Fisher and Sons plc is seeking a Production Controller to lead the UK Production Planning team from Westhill, Aberdeen. This full-time, 24-month FTC role focuses on driving operational excellence, robust production plans, and on-time delivery while maintaining data integrity across master data, routings and BOMs.

You will work with Planning, Engineering and Procurement to resolve data issues and implement continuous improvements.

Qualifications

• Experience using ERP/MRP systems to manage routings, BOMs, lead times and production master data.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and production planning.
• Experience creating and maintaining production documentation such as work orders and manufacturing records.
• Knowledge of BOM structures and phantom assemblies.
• Proficient with Excel and data analysis.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain production packs, work orders and manufacturing documentation.
• Ensure drawings, specs and documentation are controlled and issued timely.
• Create and optimise routings in ERP/MRP for accurate reflection of processes.
• Define and manage product lead times for on-time delivery.
• Maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) for cost control and efficiency.
• Drive BOM standardisation through common parts and phantom assemblies.
• Protect data integrity of master data, routings and planning parameters.
• Support engineering changes by updating production data accordingly.
• Collaborate with Planning, Engineering, Procurement and Production to resolve data issues.
• Identify and implement improvements in data quality and planning performance.
