Job summary

Sodexo Group is hiring a Production Cleaning Operative for a GMP environment in Swindon. The role is full time, 42 hours per week, 7am to 7pm, four days out of seven. You will perform cleaning tasks to GMP standards and support site operations with strong attention to hygiene and safety.

Applicants should have experience in a GMP or regulated environment, knowledge of COSHH, and the ability to follow strict procedures. A proactive, collaborative approach and good communication are essential.

• Understanding of hygiene standards and safe working practices.
• Ability to follow strict procedures and task cards.

Responsibilities

• Carry out scheduled cleaning tasks across production and support areas.
• Work in accordance with GMP standards and site procedures.
• Follow cleaning methods using SOPs and training guidance.
• Use PPE correctly and follow COSHH regulations.
• Maintain high hygiene and cleanliness standards.
• Report faults with cleaning equipment or machinery.
• Identify building defects or health and safety concerns.
• Complete tasks per daily schedules and supervisor direction.
• Support continuous improvement and consistent service.
• Collaborate with team to support site operations.

Production Cleaning Operative (GMP Environment)

As a Production Cleaning Operative, you will be responsible for delivering cleaning services in line with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) standards, supporting safe and compliant operations across the site.

What you’ll do:

• Carry out scheduled cleaning tasks across designated production and support areas
• Work in accordance with GMP standards, site procedures, and infection control requirements
• Follow all cleaning methods using task cards, SOPs, and training guidance
• Ensure correct use of PPE and adherence to colour coding and COSHH regulations
• Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness across all areas
• Report faults with cleaning equipment or machinery to the Hygiene Supervisor
• Identify and report any building defects or health and safety concerns
• Complete tasks in line with daily schedules and supervisor direction
• Support continuous improvement by maintaining consistent service standards
• Work collaboratively with the wider team to support overall site operations

What you’ll bring:

• Previous cleaning experience within a GMP, pharmaceutical, or regulated environment is desirable
• Understanding of hygiene standards, COSHH, and safe working practices
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow strict procedures
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good communication skills and a proactive approach to tasks
• Reliable, flexible, and able to prioritise workload effectively
• A positive, hands‑on attitude with a focus on delivering high standards
