Job summary

Severfield is seeking a Production Chargehand to take ownership of a designated production area in our UK factory. You will lead a hands-on team, ensuring targets are met and safety, quality, and efficiency standards are maintained.

The ideal candidate will have experience as a coded welder with structural steel, and a strong ability to interpret fabrication drawings to apply them on the shop floor. This role emphasizes independent work and proactive supervision.

Qualifications

• Hands-on leadership to coordinate a production area and meet targets.
• Ability to work independently while supervising teams.
• Strong understanding of fabrication drawings and ability to interpret/apply them.

Responsibilities

• Visually inspect work before progressing materials to the next stage.
• Be responsible for own work targets and follow drawings.
• Ensure the team work efficiently.
• Report issues with materials or team to Team Leader or Production Manager.
• Monitor health and safety standards in the work area.
• Provide training and guidance on new tasks and procedures.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and implement changes.
