Job summary

Newsquest is seeking a Production Assistant to join the Deeside Print Centre, supporting the smooth running of our printing operation in a hands‑on, fast‑paced environment. This permanent role involves a set weekly shift pattern and working as part of a dedicated team.

The role requires reliability, a practical mindset, and physical stamina, with training provided for forklift operation and ongoing development opportunities.

Qualifications

• A hardworking, reliable approach with good attention to detail.
• Comfortable working in a physically active role.
• Able to work both independently and as part of a team.
• A logical thinker with a practical mindset.
• Flexible and able to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Experience operating a counterbalance forklift truck would be advantageous, but training can be provided.

Responsibilities

• Support the day-to-day operation of the print centre.
• Monitor and set up finishing lines across different departments.
• Carry out basic planned maintenance and housekeeping tasks.
• Complete production paperwork accurately.
• Operate a forklift truck (training can be provided if required).
• Work collaboratively with the wider production team to meet deadlines.
