Job summary

Workshop Recruitment is seeking a hands-on Production and Operations Supervisor to join a well-regarded manufacturing business in Rustington, West Sussex. The role focuses on coordinating production schedules, improving processes and driving operational performance to meet demand.

You will work closely with the senior team, manage a small to mid-size workshop, uphold quality, safety and compliance, and deputise for managers when required. Fully on-site with parking available.

Qualifications

• Previous management or supervisory experience within manufacturing.
• Experience in at least two areas of production, operations, planning, stock control, people management, health and safety or compliance.
• Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.

Workshop Recruitment is seeking an experienced Production and Operations Supervisor to join an established manufacturing business in Rustington, specialising in high-quality furniture and bespoke craftsmanship. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on manager with manufacturing experience to play a key role in improving production efficiency, coordinating workshop activities and supporting the wider business. Working closely with the existing senior management team, you will have the opportunity to contribute ideas, improve processes and help drive operational performance. The Role

You will support the day-to-day running of production and operations, ensuring workloads are coordinated effectively, resources are managed efficiently and high standards of quality, safety and compliance are maintained.

About You

Essential experience and skills:

• Previous management or supervisory experience within manufacturing.
• Experience in at least two areas of production, operations, purchasing, planning, stock control, people management, health and safety or compliance.
• Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
• A hands-on leadership style with the ability to motivate and support colleagues.
• A good understanding of production processes, workflow and operational efficiency.
• The ability to adapt to changing priorities and identify opportunities for improvement.
• A calm, pragmatic approach and the ability to build effective working relationships.

Experience within a small or medium-sized manufacturing business would be particularly beneficial.

Desirable experience:

• Furniture, joinery, woodworking or upholstery manufacturing.
• ERP or MRP systems.
• Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methods.
• A combination of production and wider operational management.
