Job summary

The Workshop in Rustington, West Sussex is seeking a Production and Operations Supervisor to lead day-to-day production and ensure efficient workflows. The role focuses on coordinating production schedules, improving processes and maintaining high quality, safety and compliance across the workshop and wider business.

You'll work closely with senior management to identify improvement opportunities, support purchasing and stock control, and mentor/coordinate teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum supervisory experience in manufacturing.
• Experience in at least two areas of production, operations, purchasing, planning, stock control, people management, health and safety or compliance.
• Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Hands-on leadership style with the ability to motivate colleagues.
• Good understanding of production processes, workflow and operational efficiency.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Calm, pragmatic approach and the ability to build effective working relationships.
• Experience within a small or medium-sized manufacturing business would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating production schedules and monitoring workflow to meet business demands.
• Supporting and improving day-to-day manufacturing and operational processes.
• Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity and quality.
• Assisting with purchasing, materials planning and stock control.
• Supporting health and safety, workshop compliance and facilities management.
• Working collaboratively with production, design, sales and senior management teams.
• Supporting people management, team coordination and performance.
• Helping implement practical improvements across the workshop and wider business.
• Deputising for senior managers when required.
