Job summary

Benweld Secure is looking for an organised and proactive Production Administrator to support the day-to-day operation of our busy manufacturing department. You will work closely with the Production Planning Manager to ensure production information, works orders, job progress and ERP records are accurate and up to date.

This is predominantly office-based but requires regular communication with our production teams in a fast-paced environment where priorities can shift and accurate information is

Qualifications

  • Experience in an administration or production support role within manufacturing/engineering preferred.
  • Strong organisation and attention to detail.
  • Confident with Microsoft Excel and business systems.
  • Comfortable handling data and maintaining accurate records.
  • Able to communicate with shopfloor teams, supervisors and managers.
  • Proactive in chasing information and adapting to changing priorities.
  • Reliable, methodical and capable of owning tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Issue, maintain and control works orders, job packs and production documentation.
  • Update ERP/MRP systems with job progress, labour hours, material movements and completed operations.
  • Track jobs through production stages including fabrication, welding, finishing and despatch.
  • Support Production Planning Manager with daily priorities, workload planning and short-term changes.
  • Liaise with supervisors and shopfloor teams for progress updates and current position.
  • Monitor outstanding operations and highlight delays, shortages or issues.
  • Maintain production paperwork, records and material traceability.
  • Assist with closing completed works orders and recording information.
  • Coordinate with Production, Planning, Stores, Purchasing, Quality and Despatch to ensure smooth flow of work.
  • Maintain ERP/MRP data in EFACS for planning and traceability.
  • Assist with general production administration and reporting.

Location: Worcestershire, DY10 4JB

Salary: £30,000 and £35,000, depending on experience

Contract: Full Time Permanent

Benweld Secure - Manufacturing / Fabrication

Benweld Secure is looking for an organised and proactive Production Administrator to support the day-to-day operation of our busy manufacturing department.

Working closely with the Production Planning Manager, you will play an important role in ensuring production information, works orders, job progress and ERP records are accurate, controlled and kept up to date.

This is a predominantly office-based role but requires regular communication with our production teams. It would suit someone who is comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where priorities can change and accurate information is essential to keeping production moving.

Key Responsibilities
  • Issue, maintain and control works orders, job packs and production documentation.
  • Update ERP/MRP systems with job progress, labour hours, material movements and completed operations.
  • Track jobs through each stage of production, including fabrication, welding, finishing, subcontract processes and despatch.
  • Support the Production Planning Manager with daily production priorities, workload planning and short-term schedule changes.
  • Liaise directly with supervisors and shopfloor teams to obtain progress updates and ensure production plans accurately reflect the current position.
  • Monitor outstanding operations and highlight potential delays, shortages or production issues.
  • Maintain accurate production paperwork, records and material/product traceability.
  • Assist with closing completed works orders and ensuring all required information has been correctly recorded.
  • Liaise with Production, Planning, Stores, Purchasing, Quality and Despatch to help maintain the smooth flow of work through the factory.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date information within ERP/MRP systems such as EFACS, supporting production planning, reporting and traceability.
  • Assist with general production administration and reporting as required.
What We’re Looking For
  • Previous experience in an administration or production support role, ideally within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Confident using Microsoft Excel and computer-based business systems.
  • Comfortable working with data and maintaining accurate records.
  • Able to communicate confidently with shopfloor teams, supervisors and managers.
  • Proactive and willing to chase information when required rather than waiting for updates.Able to manage changing priorities and work effectively in a busy production environment.
  • Reliable, methodical and able to take ownership of allocated tasks.
Desirable Experience
  • Fabrication, welding or engineered manufacturing environments.
  • ERP/MRP systems, particularly EFACS or similar manufacturing software.
  • Works orders, job cards, route cards and production documentation.
  • Production planning, scheduling or capacity planning.
  • Manufacturing traceability and quality-controlled documentation.
