Job summary

Biscuit International UK Limited in Gateshead is seeking a Nightshift Product Team Lead to supervise mixing, baking and processing operations, ensuring safe, high‑quality products.

You will lead production teams, drive efficiency, waste reduction and maintain strict compliance with food safety, allergen control, quality and health & safety standards while delivering key KPIs.

Reporting to the Shift Manager, the role offers leadership growth within a leading European food manufacturing business.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise production teams across mixing, baking and processing.
• Ensure products are delivered right‑first‑time to customer specification.
• Set up, adjust and operate moulding lines and processing equipment.
• Provide cover for Pack Team Lead and Shift Manager when required.
• Plan and deliver training and competency verification with support from Training.
• Conduct GMP audits and risk assessments in own area.
• Maintain accurate batch control and ingredient usage records.
• Drive continuous improvement, efficiency and waste reduction.

Job description

We’re seeking a Nightshift Product Team Lead to join our Production team in Gateshead and lead mixing, baking and processing operations to deliver safe, high‑quality products to our customers.

Reporting to the Shift Manager, this role is responsible for supervising production teams, driving efficiency and waste reduction, and ensuring full compliance with food safety, allergen control, quality and health & safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and supervise production teams across mixing, baking and processing
• Ensure products are delivered right‑first‑time to customer specification
• Set up, adjust and operate moulding lines and processing equipment
• Provide cover for Pack Team Lead and Shift Manager when required
• Plan and deliver training and competency verification with support from Training
• Conduct GMP audits and risk assessments in own area
• Ensure strict compliance with allergen control, traceability and stock rotation
• Maintain accurate batch control and ingredient usage records
• Deliver full compliance against production KPIs
• Ensure all process control documentation is completed accurately and on time
• Drive continuous improvement, efficiency and waste reduction
• Uphold the highest standards of health, safety and hygiene

Skills & Experience:

• Experience working in food manufacturing
• Proven experience leading teams in a production environment
• Strong understanding of mixing, baking and processing equipment
• Excellent numeracy, communication and organisational skills
• Ability to plan, prioritise and deliver against production targets
• Level 2 Food Safety essential (provided by the business)
• Level 2 Health & Safety and Manual Handling desirable
