Wise Technical Ltd is seeking a senior Platform Engineer to own product support, cloud architecture, and security across Wise's systems hosted in Microsoft Azure. You will design scalable and secure architectures, lead architectural decisions, and drive DevOps practices including CI/CD and IaC.

You will mentor engineers, improve monitoring and release processes, and ensure compliance with security controls in regulated environments.

Formación

• Strong backend engineering background required.
• Experience with Python and/or PHP in production.
• Proficiency with SQL and PostgreSQL.
• Linux production environment experience.
• Cloud infrastructure design and operations on Azure.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and IaC.
• Familiarity with monitoring, logging and observability.
• Security, IAM and secrets management exposure.

• Own day-to-day product support, IT operations and security for Wise's products.

• Maintain support documentation

Own day-to-day product support, internal IT operations and security administration across Wise's products and business systems. We currently operate in Microsoft Azure and are deployed into regulated, operational airport environments.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

Product Support

• Manage customer incidents and support requests
• Troubleshoot issues
• Escalate defects
• Produce release notes and customer communications
• Maintain support documentation

Product ownership & architecture

• Own the technical architecture of our cloud platform
• Design scalable, resilient and secure systems in Azure
• Improve application structure, performance and reliability
• Lead architectural decisions for new products and modules
• Support API design, integrations and data flows

Cloud, DevOps & infrastructure

• Design, build and maintain Azure infrastructure
• Improve CI/CD pipelines and release processes
• Implement infrastructure-as-code and automation
• Improve monitoring, logging, alerting and observability
• Own backup, disaster recovery and availability strategy

Security & governance

• Own the platform security posture
• Maintain ISO27001 and Cyber Essentials technical controls
• Implement secure development best practice (OWASP, IAM, encryption, secrets management)
• Support vulnerability management, patching and audits

Engineering excellence

• Introduce and enforce coding standards and best practices
• Lead code reviews and architectural reviews
• Improve testing, QA and release confidence
• Improve documentation and system visibility
• Identify opportunities for automation and efficiency

Leadership & growth

• Act as technical lead on new projects
• Mentor and support other engineers
• Shape technical roadmaps aligned to business goals
• Support client-facing technical discussions when needed

Skills & Experience:

• Strong backend engineering background (Python and/or PHP)
