Job summary

Experis UK in Bristol is seeking an experienced Product Safety Engineer to help ensure safe delivery of advanced defence systems used in real-world environments. Role is based in Bristol with a hybrid setup: 3 days onsite and 2 days remote.

You will develop and maintain Product Safety Management Plans, perform hazard analyses (FMECA, FHA, FTA), produce Safety Cases, and collaborate with engineering teams to meet DEF-STAN 00-056, IEC 61508, and ARP 4761 standards.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering safety lifecycle across defence projects.
• Proficient in hazard analyses (FMECA, FHA, FTA) and safety case development.
• Knowledge of DEF-STAN 00-056, IEC 61508, ARP 4761 or equivalents.
• UK nationality is required due to security requirements.

Responsibilities

• Developing and maintaining Product Safety Management Plans.
• Conducting hazard identification, FMECA, FHA, FTA and other safety analyses.
• Producing and reviewing Safety Cases and technical justification.
• Working closely with engineering teams to ensure designs meet safety standards.

Join a leading UK Defence Prime delivering some of the most complex and safety‑critical engineering programmes in the industry.

We’re looking for an experienced Product Safety Engineer to help ensure the safe delivery of advanced defence systems used in real‑world operational environments.

This role is based in Bristol, with a hybrid setup requiring 3 days per week onsite with highly skilled systems, hardware, software, and programme teams.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll play a key role in supporting the safety lifecycle across a range of cutting‑edge defence projects, including:

• Developing and maintaining Product Safety Management Plans
• Conducting hazard identification, FMECA, FHA, FTA and other safety analyses
• Producing and reviewing Safety Cases and technical justification
