Job summary

Advanced Resource Managers is seeking a Product Quality Assurance Engineer for a Defence and Aerospace setting in Stevenage. The role focuses on quality within Manufacturing, audits, and continuous improvement to support cost, time, and quality targets.

You will apply quality expertise, deliver training, perform independent assessments, and drive root-cause investigations to ensure compliance with EN9100/AS9100 and AS9102 First Article Inspection requirements.

Qualifications

• Quality auditing experience in manufacturing
• Understanding of EN9100/AS9100 standards
• Experience using 8D, 5Y, PFMEA methodologies
• Strong risk management and problem-solving skills
• Ability to interface with customer representatives and suppliers
• Proficient in SAP non-conformance handling and reporting

Responsibilities

• Provide professional quality support across Manufacturing and drive continuous improvement
• Deliver quality awareness training and support manufacturing excellence
• Assist on programmes to meet cost, time and quality targets
• Assess control and improve product assurance processes
• Conduct independent assessments and audits and report outcomes to management
• Monitor closure of audit-identified issues and drive improvements
• Collaborate with QA colleagues to meet Quality Objectives
• Support risk reduction strategies with Product Assurance and other functions
• Assist in Process Effectiveness Review Programmes
• Interface with Customer Representatives to mitigate quality issues
• Contribute to SAP improvements in the Quality module
• Support Non-Conformance Review Panels and root-cause investigations
• Utilise data analysis to identify root causes and implement corrective actions
• Apply knowledge of EN9100/AS9100 and AS9102 First Article Inspection

As the Product Quality Assurance Engineer, you will be working alongside a market-leading Defence and Aerospace company who are constantly growing and developing. You will be involved in:

• Provision of professional support and advice on all aspects of quality within Manufacturing; apply quality expertise to critical business issues to support business excellence, continuous improvement, and customer satisfaction
• Provision of quality assurance assistance to Manufacturing in support of manufacturing excellence including development and delivery of quality awareness and other process and quality-related training
• Supporting Manufacturing on all programmes to achieve cost, time, and quality targets
• Assessing and controlling the product assurance quality processes and the resulting outputs
• Confirm through a programme of Independent assessments and audits that processes and quality requirements are being successfully implemented, applied, and improved
• Provide reports to Management that identifies the outcome of audits and issues
• Monitor and facilitate the progression of any improvements from audit activities and the timely closure of identified issues
• Maintaining strong links with Quality Assurance colleagues across the business to enable the dissemination and achievement of Quality Objectives within Manufacturing
• Work with Product Assurance Managers and other functions to define appropriate risk reduction strategies/action plans
• Support the development and implementation of the Process Effectiveness Review Programmes
• Interface with Customer Representatives (DQAFF), when required, to support the mitigation of quality issues
• Provide advice and help in the use of SAP as the non-conformance management tool, and identify SAP improvement with respect to the Quality Module
• Facilitation and/or support to various levels of Non-Conformance Review Panel
• Analysis of non-conformance defect data and acting on this data to undertake problem-solving investigations identifying defect root cause and corrective action implementation
• Quality professional, experienced in process-based integrated management systems & business improvement in an engineering/manufacturing environment
• Experience using both risk management and practical problem-solving tools e.g. 8D, 5Y, PFMEA etc.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages (PowerPoint, Word, and Excel)
• Quality Auditing experience
• Extensive knowledge and experience of EN9100/AS9100
• Capability to identify sustainable business improvements & ensure effective implementation
• Recognise and understand internal and external customer requirements, and respond to them
• Recognise and understand regulatory and certification requirements, and respond to them
• Understanding of AS9102 - First Article Inspection Requirements
