The Royal Ballet and Opera continues to lead the way in opera, ballet, music and dance both live on stage and through multiple digital platforms, from live streaming to worldwide cinema screenings. Our Covent Garden theatre has been at the heart of London and British cultural life for three centuries. We are home to two world-class Companies: The Royal Ballet and The Royal Opera.

While our Covent Garden theatre is the nerve centre, the impact and influence of the organisation can be felt in every corner of the country, and around the world.

Our Technology Department is responsible for the management of all services, infrastructure and business projects across the organisation, ensuring RBO staff have the technology and tools to be able to fulfill their roles and operate effectively. We are now seeking to appoint, to a newly created position with the Technology Delivery Team, a Product Owner for our data platforms. Starting with a focus on the development and optimisation of our Customer Data Platform, this role will then evolve to own the wider Enterprise Data Platform.

As we mature as an organisation in our use of data and technology, we are looking to support audience growth, customer insight, commercial performance and evidence-based decision making. This role will be a vital bridge across business strategy, data capability and technology delivery and will work collaboratively across key departments to champion a product-led approach.

Our ideal candidate will be a product professional, with significant transferable experience of delivering products in agile environments. They will be able to facilitate conversation across both technical and non-technical groups, demonstrating excellent communication and influencing skills. This role will be a mix of strategy and delivery, so the successful candidate will be able to see the bigger picture whilst also not being afraid to roll their sleeves up when required.

They Will Be Able To Demonstrate

• Significant experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager or equivalent role.
• Experience owning and developing data products, data platforms or analytics capabilities.
• Strong stakeholder management experience, including engagement with senior business leaders.
• Experience working with customer data, audience insight, CRM, marketing technology or analytics platforms.
• Experience of data governance, privacy and compliance practices, including GDPR requirements and the secure handling of personal data.

Experience in arts, culture, entertainment, visitor attraction, membership or retail organisations is not a pre-requisite, but it will be highly regarded.
