Zusammenfassung

HSBC Group is seeking a Product Owner for the Financial Crime CDAO function to shape data products, processes and applications across Compliance data lakes and cloud environments. You will define priorities, manage the team backlog, and collaborate with analytics, data science and MI stakeholders to deliver tangible insights and reusable assets.

In this role you will translate customer needs into backlog items, ensure acceptance criteria, and drive agile ceremonies with cross‑functional teams

Qualifikationen

  • Experience as a Product Owner in financial services or technology, with agile Scrum or Kanban in sprints.
  • Previous data analysis/engineering/analytics expertise desirable.
  • Working knowledge of SQL/Python desirable.
  • Familiarity with data security, privacy and access considerations.

Jobbeschreibung

The Financial Crime (FC) Chief Data and Analytics Office (CDAO) role is to manage data products, processes and applications on the Compliance/FC Data Lakes and Cloud Environments and define the strategy for their future evolution. This encompasses the end-to-end design, modelling and delivery of enhanced datasets to optimise the performance of our crime detection models and yield the greatest possible insight for all users, including FC Analyst, Investigator, Data Scientist and MI communities, many of whom we collaborate with closely. The team is also responsible for regulating the data environment, including platform architecture, management and configuration, security and data quality. In this role, you will:

  • Acts as the primary liaison with users and stakeholders.
  • Defines priorities and tracks activities for other members of the team (including data analysts and developers).
  • Takes proactive responsibility for the products, processes and tasks they own
  • Leads the promotion and communication of the vision to the wider organisation, collaborating with the team to showcase to stakeholders.
  • Ensures efficiency and a high degree of re-usability in alignment with architects, e.g., similar requirements or changes in the future can be met without incremental cost.
  • Supports & coaches other Product Owners in other Agile Teams to drive towards increased agile maturity at
  • Manages the vision of what is to-be built and conveys that vision to the Business, Architecture and Technology teams for the Value Stream and beyond where required.
  • Possesses a broad understanding of the customer needs and translates them into backlog items. For Data Platforms initiatives, this may include direct data analysis and testing work.
  • Expresses team backlog items along with acceptance criteria while prioritising them to best achieve the vision.
  • Ensures that the Team Backlog is visible, transparent, and clear to all relevant stakeholders and shows what the Agile Team will work on next.
  • Manages a front door process for accepting new items into the backlog. Ensures demand fits with wider HSBC strategy and maximise re-usability of existing assets.
  • Ensures that backlog items are completed and comply with the definition of done.
  • Support cross project demand and prioritisation management with colleagues and stakeholders
  • Works closely together with the Agile Team to inspect and assure the work being delivered and evaluate progress.
  • Experience as a product owner in a financial services and/or technology domain practising relevant agile methodologies (i.e. scrum or kanban and operating in sprints)
  • Previous data analysis/engineering/analytics expertise and familiarity with SQL/python desirable
  • Working knowledge and familiarity with financial services organisations and typical customer products
  • Familiarity with data security, privacy and access considerations when dealing with sensitive data from multiple jurisdictions
  • Previous experience working in a financial (or wider) crime domain desirable
  • Manages effectively upwards to senior managers and leaders across the function to achieve buy in for their product and engagement strategies
  • Leadership on priorities and requirements for their products and engagements, communicating effectively to other teams and team members (including business and technology) to ensure capabilities are built in alignment with expectations
  • Ability to understand complex and unfamiliar problems within the role domain with a broad range of business and technical constraints and dependencies, designing data driven solutions to address them
  • Proactively builds understanding of a complex business landscape, able to identify the most effective approaches to align multiple teams to support their product and engagement priorities
  • Proactively building expertise in new tooling, concepts, industry trends and programming languages relevant to the role within anti-financial crime, data and financial services
  • Ability to build understanding on domain topics around data and financial crime to solve problems in a rapidly changing landscape and build a working technical knowledge where needed
  • The role holder will be responsible for prioritisation and design decisions (in collaboration with appropriate subject matter experts) relating to their products and engagements
