Product Owner (Contract)

Duration: 6 Months (Possibility for extension)

Location: Bristol Harbourside or Edinburgh (2 days per week on site)

Rate: A highly competitive Umbrella Day Rate or Salary is available for suitable candidates

Role Profile

Our client, a prominent organisation within the banking sector, is seeking a highly skilled Product Owner to spearhead initiatives aimed at enhancing customer journeys through the integration of automation and artificial intelligence.

This role is pivotal in articulating the product value, driving business outcomes, and ensuring the successful delivery of technology solutions that align with the organisation's strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own and manage journey outcomes, ensuring a focus beyond mere backlog maintenance.
• Drive discovery processes to challenge and improve existing workflows and methodologies.
• Prioritise product features using Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) while managing a team of Developers, ensuring alignment with a backlog of deliverable IT items.
• Collaborate effectively across various functions including Operations, Risk, Engineering, and Business Readiness to streamline communication and facilitate project delivery.
• Quantify benefits and track the value delivered to both customers and colleagues, ensuring that improvements in experience are measurable and aligned with strategic goals.
• Make confident prioritisation decisions that eliminate ambiguity for delivery teams and enhance operational efficiency.
• Deliver modernised Pega Cloud journeys that underpin the organisation's strategic objectives and Customer Service Vision, focusing on transformative customer and colleague experience improvements.

Skills & Experience:

• Proven experience as a Product Owner or in a similar role within the banking sector, with a strong focus on improving customer journeys through automation and AI.
• Background in technical project management, providing a solid foundation for understanding the complexities of technology delivery.
• Demonstrable experience in managing feature teams, prioritising backlogs based on value, and successfully landing deliverables.
• In-depth knowledge of Insurance, Pensions, and Investments products, along with a comprehensive understanding of the associated customer journeys.
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to effectively quantify benefits and track value delivery.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration across diverse teams.
• Ability to challenge the status quo and drive innovative solutions that enhance customer and colleague experiences.
• Proficiency in managing complex projects with a keen focus on delivering measurable outcomes.
