Role Purpose

Calastone is developing a new set of products, building on our network, that leverage tokenisation and distributed ledger technology (DLT) to provide solutions to our asset management and asset servicing clients, and ultimately to deliver better outcomes to investors. This role will play a critical part in the shaping and delivery of this portfolio of Digital Investments products.

As a key member of the Digital Investments Product team, you will contribute to the design and delivery of our products. This includes conducting market analysis, soliciting client feedback, defining and communicating the product roadmap and prioritising work for development in conjunction with technology and the broader product team.

Through industry research and proactive discovery, you will understand the needs and direction of the market as the industry moves forward into a new tokenised era, joining specialists in the Commercial team in co-creation sessions with clients, identifying their needs and working on potential solutions collectively - keeping scalability and repeatability of the solution front of mind. Rather than simply replicating processes of the traditional fund ecosystem - you will design innovative means to achieve desired outcomes more efficiently and to unlock new use cases.

The successful candidate will bring knowledge and experience relevant to asset management or asset servicing, having worked in product, operational or similar roles. The role involves assessing and evaluating product/market fit and commercial viability at all stages and allowing these to be challenged and enriched in the Product governance process with collaboration across Commercial, Operations, Marketing, Technology and directly with clients. You will also be in charge from a delivery perspective, directly engaging with technology and design teams and working on the product backlog. This may also include performing the Product Owner role, within Calastone's agile delivery process.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct product discovery work, playing a key role in co-creation sessions with our clients, and our Commercial team, eliciting feedback on our products and broader roadmap.
• Investigate client needs, establishing views on meeting these via new or existing product capabilities, and map out current and proposed end-to-end workflows under traditional and digital models.
• Break initiatives down into clear, actionable Epic or User Story level tasks that can be collated, tracked and estimated in the system for building and maintenance of the product roadmap.
• Plan and prioritise the product feature backlog, working closely with your Product Director and other Product personnel.
• Work closely with the Lead Engineers to translate and articulate product requirements into acceptable increments to be delivered by technology.
• Work with your Product Director on the commercial viability of your product domain, ensuring product level budgets and sales targets are set and achieved in line with corporate goals.
• Work with the Product Director to provide meaningful performance metrics: defining and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure project progress and success.
• Work with the broader Product Management team, ensuring the end-to-end vision is clear, particularly where there are areas of overlap with other Calastone products, and pro-actively knowledge share and identify synergies.
• Propose and implement changes to existing processes to streamline and accelerate delivery; maximize revenue and find efficiencies on cost.
• Aid the creation of the marketing content, Go-To-Market plans and client-facing product documentation, working closely with the Commercial and Marketing teams, articulating the value proposition and key capabilities of your products.

Required Knowledge & Experience

• Commercial results-oriented leadership with a keen eye for the revenues and costs of Products - looking for ways to optimise your Products for maximum return.
• Experience in asset management and the broader funds ecosystem, such as through product or fund operations roles at an asset manager, asset servicer, or similar market participant.
• Experience of capital markets, such as securities and derivatives trading, settlement and collateral management is beneficial.
• Have a track record of product delivery, showing how products have moved from ideation to launch and growth under your ownership.
• Comfortable dealing with ambiguity and the unknown, and able to think in a disruptive way to reinvent your domain product set from how the industry works today, balancing with ease-of-adoption for new products.
• Direct experience of Agile development processes and able to evangelize its adoption.
• Stakeholder management experience, influencing to positively impact the business.
• Able to follow and suggest improvements to a disciplined Product development process.
• Experience of client/customer-led Product development, executing based on client/customer needs, insights and testing.
• Excellent written communication - produces high-quality internal and external documents, ranging from process maps to technical requirements to product documentation and presentations.
• Strong interpersonal and presentation skills - tailors' delivery to influence, inform and educate audiences of varying roles, seniority and experience.
• Passion for what tokenisation, DLT and Web3 technology can bring to the asset management industry and a drive to bring new innovative products to market.
