As part of the Media, Networks and Applications Product team, you will own BT’s Video Compression Solutions for UK and global media customers, managing the Coding & Multiplex portfolio.

As the broadcast industry shifts to OTT delivery, you will investigate, develop, and where appropriate, transition into products and solutions for Coding & Packaging for OTT workflows.

Once settled into the role, there may be opportunities to mentor junior team members, laying the foundation for future line management roles.

What you’ll be doing
  • Managing a complex product portfolio with a niche customer base, focusing on coding, multiplexing, and packaging services for broadcast customers.
  • Owning the product plan, pricing strategy, development budget, product P&L, and roadmap, including establishing and monitoring relevant milestones.
  • Developing relationships with decision-makers and subject matter experts within the Media & Broadcast industry.
  • Participating in ad hoc travel to trade shows and UK-based customer visits.
  • Supporting Sales and Technical Consultants in responding to bid requests and RFPs.
  • Managing key suppliers, performance metrics, and cost controls.
  • Owning the business case for new developments and the P&L for existing products and solutions.
Experience/Skills needed to be successful in the role:
  • Broadcast/Media industry expertise – Experience working for a leading Media & Broadcast provider or manufacturer.
  • Product management – Experience managing the end-to-end lifecycle of new market launches and maintaining/developing existing product portfolios. Suitable for a Product Owner seeking to expand commercial understanding.
  • Commercial acumen – Strong financial literacy, ability to develop and present business cases, pricing strategies, and lead vendor negotiations.
  • Technical understanding – Knowledge of video compression techniques, coding, multiplexing, and streaming technologies. You should be comfortable communicating with suppliers and technical architects from R&D and engineering backgrounds, though not necessarily being a hands-on technical expert.
  • Stakeholder management – Proven ability to engage and influence stakeholders internally and externally, including networking to build strong relationships.

Our leadership principles include:

Leading inclusively and safely: Inspiring trust through self-awareness, honesty, and integrity.
Owning outcomes: Making decisions that benefit the broader organization.

Additional benefits include:
