Job summary

Aurora Energy Research Limited in Oxford, UK, is seeking a Product Manager for Energy Asset Modelling to own the roadmap for its modelling squad. You will partner with modellers, software engineers, and analysts to deliver robust, valuable capabilities, while influencing the product direction with a strong first-principles approach.

You will translate energy storage and RES sector trends into actionable requirements, engaging directly with clients to ensure the product solves real market needs

Qualifications

• Typically 4+ years in a software product role with ownership of outcomes.
• Proven ability to execute on complex projects.
• Excellent ability to communicate across technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience with AI to improve team workflows.
• Experience in analysis and modelling of power market economics.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the strategy for the squad and execute against it.
• Own the squad's roadmap, and explain and defend it to stakeholders.
• Play a leading role in your squad's project management alongside your tech lead, executing to a high standard and removing risk proactively.
• Develop a deep understanding of our users through regular direct contact, and represent the customer's voice within the squad.
• Work cross-functionally with modellers, software engineers, and analysts to build capabilities that are robust, defensible, and genuinely valuable.
• Collaborate on methodological discussions, ensuring that analytical insights are accurate, interpretable, and actionable.
• Become a domain expert, distilling complex market and asset realities into requirements.
• Mentor and develop more junior members of the team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and high-quality execution
