Job Opportunity: Innovation Manager

Salary: £55,000 - £64,000 + Hybrid working + Brand new laboratory + Opportunity to build a team + Collaborate with C-suite + Training and development courses + Industry specialist

This is a unique opportunity to lead R&D efforts in a rapidly growing UK-based business that has recently expanded into Europe. The company is at the forefront of innovative research and development in the heavy building materials industry, focusing on projects such as hydrogen, decarbonisation, and sustainability. Experience in heavy engineering, scientific, or chemical fields is advantageous for success in this role.

The company has established 7 UK sites and an international presence, investing in state-of-the-art laboratories. As an Innovation Manager, you will work directly with the CEO and the Director of Innovation & Sustainability to implement your ideas and initiatives, with opportunities to lead your own R&D team in the future.

Your Responsibilities:

• Lead the development and implementation of new materials, processes, products, and technologies
• Drive creative innovation exploring new and established markets
• Develop client strategies
• Engage in lab and site work

Candidate Requirements:

• PhD, degree, or extensive R&D experience
• Background in aggregate, building materials, ceramics, or material science
• Proven ability to lead initiatives focused on delivery and ROI
• Experience in opportunity mapping, risk assessment, and commercial awareness
