Lumentum is seeking a Product Environmental Compliance Engineer to join our Environmental Compliance team. You will work with Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Sales, and global suppliers to ensure products meet international environmental legislation throughout their lifecycle.

The role emphasizes reviewing BOMs, material declarations, and regulatory requirements, conducting LCAs, and preparing Full Material Declarations, with responsibilities spanning customer inquiries, engineering

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Materials Science, or another relevant technical discipline.
Around 3–5 years’ experience in environmental compliance, product stewardship or sustainability within a manufacturing or engineering environment.

Responsibilities

Review supplier material declarations and test reports to verify product compliance.
Analyse BOMs and materials against global environmental regulations.
Prepare product compliance declarations and Full Material Declarations (FMDs).
Respond to customer environmental compliance enquiries and questionnaires.
Support engineering change processes to maintain product compliance.
Collect and analyse supplier conflict minerals data and produce consolidated product reports.
Conduct Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs), including data collection, analysis and reporting.
Monitor changes in global environmental legislation and advise the business on compliance requirements.
Collaborating with Supply Chain, R&D, Manufacturing, Contract Manufacturers and Sales teams across the organisation.
