Job summary

Green Folk in Worcester is seeking a Product Engineer to support the development and improvement of investment casting products. The role includes hands-on engineering, process development, and cross-functional collaboration with customers.

Responsibilities cover dimensional control, process documentation, and cost-reduction initiatives while working on both new and legacy products. The position is full-time and permanent, with a salary range of £50,000 to £70,000 per annum.

Qualifications

• Experience in inventions, new designs or techniques.
• Broad knowledge of materials science, mechanical, industrial engineering along with investment casting technology.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills in product engineering.
• Strong communication skills.
• Project management experience.

Responsibilities

• Development of parts and processes to meet specification requirements for all dimensional aspects of product.
• Provide program management for an individual portfolio of parts.
• Continuously reduce cost to manufacture through improvement projects and waste reduction activities.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing problems and provide root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Develop and create written manufacturing process instructions for investment cast products.
• Work concurrently with customers to improve manufacturability of castings Utilise knowledge principles and forecast new technology and provide business direction based on them
• Contribute to the development of the new principles and concepts Apply advance principles and concepts to casting process
• Work on unusually complex problems and provide highly innovative and ingenious solutions Develop a long-range position on programs or technologies
• Determine and pursue course of action necessary to obtain desired results Act as technological/project leader with consistent and meaningful influence
• Determine program objectives/requirements and develop standards and guides for diverse engineering activities

Our client develops and maintains the dimensional integrity of investment castings. Engineering and technical support for a family of Industrial Gas Turbine (IGT) castings in our Turbine Aerofoils Business. The role supports new product development as well as legacy product improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Development of parts and processes to meet specification requirements for all dimensional aspects of product.
• Provide program management for an individual portfolio of parts.
