Job summary

Greencore is seeking a Product Development Technologist in London (Cumberland) to validate product developments and support documentation for customer acceptance and launches.

You will input recipes, coordinate material requirements, and prepare all necessary feasibility and submission forms to secure approvals. The role involves kitchen samples, organoleptic testing, and ensuring shelf-life and quality standards throughout the development cycle.

Qualifications

• Degree or apprenticeship route in a food-related science or equivalent.
• Demonstrates analytical thinking and strong numeracy.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Input recipes onto the recipe management system to assess cost and nutrition.
• Brief new and revised material requirements to the NPD buyers and packaging team.
• Prepare feasibility and submission forms for product development approval.
• Assist with kitchen samples for internal panels, nutritional testing and customer presentations.
• Plan product setup, manage sample purchases, and coordinate courier logistics.
• Conduct kitchen organoleptic testing and suggest recipe reformulations to meet shelf-life.
• Follow critical path timelines and escalate risks to prevent delays.
• Incorporate sustainability considerations with data input for NPD/EPD.
• Accurate labelling and boxing of samples for external mailing.
• Buy ingredients and benchmark samples as required.
