Job summary

Trelleborg Marine & Infrastructure is seeking a Product Development Engineer to conceive, design, and implement new products and technologies. You will work on development, prototyping, and cross-functional collaboration to bring innovative solutions to market.

The role focuses on regulatory compliance, drawing and BOM creation, design data preparation, and product qualification testing, using CAD/FEA and CAD tools to enhance efficiency and quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering, mechanical engineering, industrial design, or a related field.
• Significant experience in product development, preferably within a manufacturing environment, demonstrating a track record of successful project completion.
• Proficiency in utilizing technologies such as CAD and FEA for product design and analysis.
• Experience with SolidWorks and PDM.

Responsibilities

• Regulatory compliance: ensure products conform to design specifications and comply with regulatory standards maintaining adherence to quality and safety.
• Customer specification interpretation: review and interpret customer specifications to determine appropriate designs necessary to meet specific requirements.
• Drawing and BOM preparation: prepare various drawings and BOMs to define the product configuration.
• Design data preparation: prepare design data to facilitate manufacturing of prototypes and production.
• Product qualification testing: define and issue test requests for product qualification ensuring products meet performance requirements.
• Accuracy of design data: ensure design data provided to process development/production is accurate and up-to-date.
• Documentation management: prepare documentation to ensure compliance with quality standards and customer audits, while maintaining accurate records.
• Technology development: develop new technologies including CAD, FEA, and innovative materials.
• Continuous improvement: contribute to continuous improvement of product development processes, incorporating feedback and best practices.
• Quality assurance: ensure product development activities meet specified quality standards and comply with regulatory and industry requirements.
• Innovation implementation: actively contribute to the implementation of innovative technologies and materials in product development processes.

About us

Trelleborg Gas Transfer is looking for a dynamic and motivated engineer to cover the vacant role of Product Development Engineer. Our PG Transfer System design and supply special equipment for transferring safely cryogenic and non-cryogenic fluids in maritime and offshore environment. The portfolio includes emergency release couplings and systems that to safely connect/disconnect an LNG (or other petrochemical flow) line during critical ship to ship or ship to shore loading operations.

About the role

A Product Development Engineer is integral part of our Engineering Team and is instrumental in conceiving, designing, and implementing new products and technologies, leveraging cutting-edge advancements to enhance the company's competitive edge. This role involves a focus on product and project support, development, research, prototyping, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to bring innovative solutions to the market.

About your responsibilities

• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that products conform to design specifications and comply with regulatory standards maintaining adherence to quality and safety.

• Innovation Implementation: Actively contribute to the implementation of innovative technologies and materials in product development processes, enhancing the company’s technological capabilities.

What you bring
