Job summary

Matchtech supports a hospitality client in a permanent Product Development role, driving development and project management of new products, including cost-saving initiatives and supplier negotiations.

You will participate in global meetings, brief Global Product Development teams across design, R&D, and engineering, and ensure regulatory compliance for label printing. Hybrid work with two days in Aldermaston is available.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Cosmetics, Chemistry or related field.
  • Experience in international business trade, hospitality and personal care sectors preferred.
  • Experience with hospitality product ranges and cosmetic development.
  • Knowledge in costing analysis, formula development, EU/UK compliance and sustainability sourcing.
  • Advanced Excel skills for timelines and data handling.
  • Strong communication to translate data into business insights.
  • Independent, precise, proactive and able to multi-task.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in global meetings for project and product development, as well as tenders.
  • Brief Global Product Development teams across design, R&D and engineering.
  • Prepare regulatory-compliant mechanical artwork request forms for label printing.
  • Coordinate with suppliers for cost quotes, fill RFPs and prepare timelines.
  • Review and approve pre-production samples before mass production.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Brand, Design, Marketing, Engineering and Quality.
  • Prepare new product codes and detailed product specifications.
  • Update teams on cosmetic product safety assessments for new products.
  • Ensure UK/EU cosmetic regulation compliance.
  • Conduct sustainability checks and provide development insights.
  • Gather formulation documents from suppliers and manufacturers.
  • Attend exhibitions to explore new product opportunities if necessary.

Job description

Our client, a prominent entity in the hospitality sector, is currently inviting applications for a permanent role in Product Development. This position is pivotal in driving the development and project management of new products, including cost-saving initiatives and supplier negotiations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participation in global meetings for project and product development, as well as tenders
  • Briefing projects to Global Product Development teams, including design, R&D, and engineering
  • Preparation of mechanical artwork request forms ensuring regional regulatory compliance for label printing
  • Managing communication with suppliers for cost quoting, filling in RFPs, and preparing timelines
  • Coordinating the review and approval of pre-production samples before mass production
  • Cross-functional teamwork with Sales, Global & Regional Product Development, Brand, Design, Marketing, Engineering, and Quality teams
  • Preparing new product codes and detailed product specifications
  • Updating internal teams on cosmetic product safety assessments for new products
  • Ensuring formula compliance with UK & EU Cosmetic Regulations
  • Conducting sustainability package quality checks and providing development insights
  • Collaborating with suppliers and manufacturers to gather formulation documents
  • Attending exhibitions to explore new product opportunities if necessary
Job Requirements
  • Degree holder, preferably in Cosmetics, Chemical, or a related field
  • Experience in international business trade, hospitality, and personal care sectors is preferable
  • Experience with hospitality product ranges and personal care cosmetics development
  • Knowledge in costing analysis, formula development, EU/UK compliance, and sustainability package sourcing
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel for timeline creation
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate data into business insights
  • Ability to work independently under pressure and multi-task effectively
  • Hands-on, meticulous, positive, and proactive attitude
