Job Description:

Job Title: Product Developer

Reporting To: General Manager

Location: Hertfordshire

Hybrid working: 3 days on site, 2 from home

Job Purpose:

To develop new product concepts in line with internal and external briefs. Manage new products and upgrades from concept to launch through the NPD process, ensuring timely and budgeted launches.

General Responsibilities:

  • NPD & EPD across retail customers, collaborating with global suppliers
  • Project management of NPD projects
  • Handling NPD samples

Accountabilities:

  • Develop creative new product concepts based on retailer and internal briefs, as well as identified opportunities.
  • Manage all NPD critical paths to ensure on-time launches following company processes.
  • Lead weekly NPD meetings, coordinate with suppliers and customers on progress.
  • Conduct store visits, trend sessions, and inspirational visits to stay ahead of food and consumer trends.
  • Present and develop new product ideas for retailer presentations and internal meetings.
  • Oversee sample requests related to NPD.
  • Manage and mentor the NPD assistant.

Experience, Knowledge, and Qualifications:

  • Ideally studied a food-related science.
  • Experience working with retailers, including gate process and specification systems.
  • Full UK driving license.
  • Experience with Microsoft Project is advantageous.
  • Strong relationship-building skills.
  • Organized, enthusiastic, and passionate about food!
