Job Description:
We are seeking a Product Developer who is passionate about product innovation, with a meticulous eye for detail and is exceptionally well organised. As a Product Developer, you will play a pivotal role in helping the Designers bring the collections to life, ensuring that high standards are met throughout each of the development stages.
- Collaborate with Designto follow the product development process from first sketch through to SMS and final handover to the technical team, ensuring design intent is realised.
- To source fabrics, trims and components that align with the designer’s vision, maintaining the fit, feel, and quality of the brand. Address any cost and minimum order quantity (MOQ) challenges that may impact margin or production levels.
- Build strong professional relationships with suppliers, communicating clearly and negotiating where necessary to meet price points, without compromising on quality or design integrity.
- Createdetailed technical drawings, set up BOMs, and development packs, ensuring all technical specs and costings meet targets.
- Complete and set colour standard paperwork for all products. Create detailed bills of materials (BOM), technical drawings and costing sketches and send out to factories for costings.
- Collaborate with designers’ to ensure design samples are made and ready for all design reviews and range sign off meetings. Organising lab dips where needed and arranging dye bags with the colour technician
- Partner with the technical team throughout the fit process to risk-assess each style, ensuring suitability for production. Highlight any necessary changes to the wider team.
- Monitor and prioritise workload according to the Design Calendar and Critical Path. Ensure sampling for design meetings, key market presentations, and SMS are of the highest quality and delivered on time.
- Be part of the business journey towards greater sustainability, actively sourcing sustainable materials and practices wherever possible.
- Degree educated in fashion or fashion contour.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role. Experience within lingerie, or intimates, or sportswear would be preferable.
- Demonstrate a passion for garments and product development.
- A good understanding of sourcing fabrics, trims and the impact on fit and cost engineering.
- Excellent multitasking and workload prioritisation to meet deadlines.
- Self-motivated and deadline driven.
- Proficiency in Excel, Adobe Illustrator, and experience with PLM software
- A team player and a collaborative mindset.
