City Football Group in Manchester is seeking a Product Designer to shape new product ideas and translate strategy into clearly defined, testable concepts ready for build.
You will work with Product Managers and engineers to explore opportunities, use journey mapping and prototypes to validate needs, and ensure feasible, scalable solutions are well defined before implementation.
Based in Manchester, this permanent role gives you the opportunity to shape new product ideas before they move into scaled technology delivery. Working across prototypes, journeys and early concept validation, you will help turn strategy into clear, testable and technically considered product experiences that are ready for build.
Founded in 2013, City Football Group is the world's leading private owner and operator of football clubs, with teams across the globe connected by a shared belief in doing things differently. Alongside our clubs, we invest in football-related businesses and build partnerships that help the game, and the communities around it, thrive. Everything we do is guided by our purpose: empowering better lives through football. Rooted in more than a century of "City" football, we are proud of the role our clubs play locally and globally, creating positive impact on and off the pitch.
Within our Product team, we work to turn approved ideas into experiences that are clear, useful and ready for delivery. This role sits close to Product Managers, Technology Solutions and operational colleagues, helping us reduce ambiguity early, test assumptions quickly and make sure product concepts are well defined before scaled implementation begins.
The Product Designer will work with Product Managers and operational colleagues to explore new opportunities, understand customer and business needs, and turn early ideas into clearly defined product concepts.
You will use journey mapping, service mapping, wireframes, interaction models and prototypes to make ideas tangible, testable and easier to understand.
A key part of the role is working closely with Technology Solutions and engineers to assess feasibility, explore solution options and identify constraints, dependencies, risks and likely delivery effort.
You will help translate product vision into a shared understanding of how a solution could work, what needs to be built and where further investigation or development is required.
You will support the transition from discovery into scaled delivery by clearly articulating the problem, proposed experience, requirements and technical considerations.
Acting as a translator between Product and Technology Solutions, you will help improve product readiness, reduce rework and give delivery teams a stronger foundation from which to build scalable products.
Working at City Football Group means being supported to do your best, with the flexibility and encouragement to look after your wellbeing. We are committed to helping our people learn, grow and thrive in a culture built on collaboration, openness and hard work.
As part of our team, you will receive 26 days' annual leave plus a day off for your birthday, private healthcare and dental cover, and an annual discretionary bonus. You will also have access to a Health Cash Plan, Employee Assistance Programme with 24/7 GP support, and a company pension and life assurance.
Manchester-based employees also benefit from free on-site parking, complimentary breakfast and lunch, and access to a range of sports and leisure clubs.
You can enjoy a range of additional benefits, including cycle to work, Give As You Earn, discounted match tickets, savings in the City Store, a free City+ subscription, stadium tour discounts, and wider retail and lifestyle offers.
City Football Group promotes equal opportunities in employment and we positively welcome applications from all candidates regardless of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex and sexual orientation.
