Job summary

Acorn Group is seeking a Mid-weight Product Designer to join our growing digital design team in Liverpool. You will work in a cross-functional squad, shaping end-to-end user experiences for our insurance customers.

You'll collaborate with product managers, engineers and researchers to craft simple, impactful solutions, building UI assets and contributing to a new design system across brands. Hybrid working is available and career development is encouraged.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience designing digital products, strong in Insurtech or regulated industries is a plus.
  • Strong portfolio showing end-to-end design and decision making.
  • Solid understanding of user-centered design principles and turning research into insights.
  • Experience with design systems and tools like Figma.

Responsibilities

  • Design and prototype simple, low friction digital experiences.

Acorn is looking for a passionate Mid-weight Product Designer to join us in a period of exciting growth and digital transformation, helping us transform customer journeys in the insurance market.

Working as a Product Designer at Acorn you will be working as part of a cross-functional squad, honing your skills on the end-to-end design process as part of a growing Product Design team which will offer support for your development.

You will work with product managers, business analysts, engineers and various other stakeholders to explore and solve customer problems and design challenges using simple and impactful solutions. The team embraces a collaborative culture in which ideas are freely shared, and team members are empowered to experiment, innovate and grow together through constructive feedback.

Location: Liverpool City Centre on a hybrid model

Working hours: 37.5 Hour per week, Monday-Friday

Salary: £40,000 - £55,000 DOE

What you will be doing:
  • Design and prototype simple, low friction digital experiences;
  • Own all stages of the design process from concept to launch;
  • Create UI assets and collaborate towards a new design system that works across brands;
  • Solve customer problems with a focus on the best experience while balancing business goals;
  • Conduct user research and user testing to inform design decisions and improve the user experience;
  • Test multiple designs to iterate to the right solution as evidenced by the data collected;
  • Perform design audits and propose improvements to ensure quality and consistency across brands and product lines;
  • Work autonomously within a Product Squad, but as part of a team of Product Designers;
  • Build a deep understanding of user needs and business objectives in our specialist market.
What we are looking for:
  • 3+ years experience designing digital products - experience in Insurtech or regulated industries would be a strong plus;
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end design experience, including your decision making process;
  • Demonstrated good understanding of user-centered design principles
  • Hability to drive user research findings into actionable insights
  • Previous experience working with design systems
  • Experience working with Figma
  • Strong commitment to doing what is right for the customer and the company
  • Eagerness to learn and commitment to continuous improvement.
