Job summary

Kody Group is seeking a Product Compliance Manager to bridge regulatory requirements with product design for UK/European and Hong Kong markets. You will embed Compliance-by-Design across the product lifecycle, collaborating with Product Managers, Engineers, and Commercial teams to create compliant, frictionless journeys for POS, Open Banking, and cross-border settlement flows.

Qualifications

• 3–6+ years in Product Compliance, RegTech, or Compliance Engineering within a regulated FinTech, PSP, payment gateway, or card acquirer.
• Ability to read API docs, understand data flows, and translate regulatory policies into technical architecture and UI/UX requirements.
• Strong familiarity with UK/European regulatory frameworks (FCA, PSD2/SCA, Consumer Duty) and Hong Kong standards (HKMA Open API, PDPO).

• Frictionless KYB & Merchant Onboarding: design and optimize digital onboarding journeys with compliant tooling integration.
• Scheme & Partner Alignment: ensure payment rails adhere to card schemes, open banking protocols, and acquiring partner standards.
• Cross-Border Expansion & Consumer Protection: evaluate compliance for new payment methods and multi-currency pricing, oversee terms and privacy policies.

Role Overview

We are looking for a forward-thinking Product Compliance Manager to bridge the gap between financial regulations and cutting-edge product design across both our UK/European and Hong Kong markets.

In this role, you will champion "Compliance-by-Design," embedding regulatory integrity into the product development lifecycle from ideation to deployment. You will collaborate directly with Product Managers, Engineers, and Commercial teams to design frictionless, fully compliant user journeys for POS solutions, Open Banking / Pay-by-Bank workflows, and cross-border settlement rails.

Key Responsibilities

• Compliance-by-Design & Product Advisory:
• Serve as the dedicated compliance partner to Product and Engineering squads, assessing new payment features, POS terminal flows, and software integrations from day one.
• Translate complex regulatory mandates (e.g., UK FCA requirements, PSRs, Consumer Duty, EU PSD2/PSD3, Strong Customer Authentication/SCA) and Hong Kong standards (HKMA guidelines, Open API framework, FPS rules) into practical technical user stories, API designs, and UX requirements.
• Frictionless KYB & Merchant Onboarding:
• Design and optimize digital, automated Merchant Onboarding (KYB/CDD) journeys that balance robust compliance with minimal drop-off rates.
• Partner with data and engineering teams to integrate compliance tooling (identity verification, fraud screening, entity registry lookups) into our onboarding stack.
• Scheme & Partner Alignment:
• Ensure all payment rails adhere to international card scheme mandates (Visa, Mastercard, Amex), open banking protocols, and acquiring partner standards (e.g., Adyen, Stripe).
• Manage compliance for hardware POS deployments and payment software, ensuring alignment with PCI-DSS and security expectations.
• Cross-Border Expansion & Consumer Protection:
• Evaluate compliance frameworks for new payment methods, multi-currency pricing, and cross-border settlement between Europe and Hong Kong.
• Oversee merchant-facing documentation, fee transparency, disclosure notices, terms of service (T&Cs), and privacy policies (UK/EU GDPR and HK PDPO).

• Experience: 3–6+ years in Product Compliance, Regulatory Technology (RegTech), or Compliance Engineering within a regulated FinTech, PSP, payment gateway, or card acquirer.
• Technical & Product Fluency: Proven ability to read API docs, understand data flows, and translate regulatory policies into technical architecture and UI/UX requirements.
• Payments & Open Banking Expertise: Solid understanding of modern payment mechanisms—especially Open Banking / Pay-by-Bank, QR payments, POS card acquiring, and SEPA/Faster Payments/FPS.
• Dual-Market Knowledge: Strong familiarity with UK/European regulatory frameworks (FCA, PSD2/SCA, Consumer Duty) and Hong Kong standards (HKMA Open API/SVF expectations, AMLO, PDPO).
• Problem-Solver Mindset: Business-enabler attitude; thrives on finding compliant "how we can" pathways rather than simply saying "no".
• Languages: Full professional English proficiency; working proficiency in Cantonese or Mandarin is a strong asset for cross-regional collaboration.
