Job summary

Atlas Copco Group in the United Kingdom is seeking a Product Compliance Engineer to translate evolving legislation and regulatory standards into practical guidance for engineering, quality, and product teams.

You will support global compliance projects, interpret international requirements, and provide expert guidance on product safety, documentation, and conformity assessments across global teams. The hybrid role is based at our Burgess Hill technology centre.

Qualifications

• Experience interpreting and applying product legislation and conformity requirements.
• Ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into practical guidance for multiple teams.
• Degree in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science or related field.
• Experience supporting product safety reviews and technical documentation is beneficial.

Your role

As a Product Compliance Engineer, your mission is to support global product and technology teams by translating evolving product legislation, regulatory standards, and compliance requirements into clear, practical guidance that strengthens product safety, quality, and regulatory integrity. You will report to the Product Compliance Process Manager. .

You will

• Support the development and implementation of global product compliance projects, helping product companies build capability and embed compliance requirements into new product development.


• Interpret international legislation, standards, and conformity requirements, translating them into practical guidance for engineering, quality, product, and customer-facing teams.


• Provide expert support on product safety, regulatory compliance, technical documentation, and compliance reviews across global teams and projects.

To succeed, you will need

You have 3 - 5 years of experience, working in a product compliance, regulatory engineering, product safety, materials compliance, quality, or engineering role with strong exposure to legislation and standards.

• Experience interpreting and applying product legislation, regulatory standards, and conformity requirements in a technical or engineering environment.


• Ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into clear, practical guidance for engineering, product, quality, and cross-functional teams.


• A degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related scientific discipline.


• Experience supporting product safety reviews, technical documentation, compliance reviews, testing, or working with notified bodies would be beneficial.

This role is not a general engineering position with compliance exposure. It requires a professional who can support translating evolving regulatory requirements into clear, actionable guidance for global product and technology teams.

Job location

This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, allowing you to split your time between working remotely and being on-site at our Global Technology Centre in Burgess Hill, West Sussex, United Kingdom.
