Job Description

The Company
Oxford Space Systems develops innovative deployable antennas for space. Our aim is to be the global leader in this field, providing effective solutions today for the space-based services of the future. We are leveraging innovations from beyond the space sector to make our antennas smaller, lighter, and cheaper than traditional designs.

This is an exciting time to join us as we scale up for the future, having already delivered multiple systems for operational satellites with in-orbit deployment success, and significant investment in our facilities with a state-of-the-art head office at Harwell and a bespoke manufacturing facility in Abingdon.

The Role
As an experienced Product Assurance Manager, you will use your expertise to ensure our products meet our exacting quality standards. This is a critical role in our organisation as you will be working across multiple projects identifying and executing strategies to ensure high quality standards, adherence to processes, managing any non-conformances, and undertaking root cause analysis. You will also approve project inspections and have responsibility for materials, parts, and component process selection.

Reporting to the Lead Product Assurance Manager, you will work alongside our Engineering and MAIT teams ensuring all project deliverables are in line with the project product assurance plan. You will also be responsible for identifying and executing process improvements within the PA lifecycle. This role will also support Quality Assurance by conducting internal audits and analysing the results to identify and implement improvements.

You will have a bachelor’s degree in Engineering or an equivalent area, have previous experience in Product Assurance and/or Quality Assurance preferably in the Space sector or another technically focused industry. You will also be familiar with ISO 9001 and have experience with parts, component, and materials selection and qualification. A good understanding of the Product Assurance discipline is necessary to tailor the approach to the level of risk tolerated for each project (e.g., traditional vs. new space). You will also have excellent communication and influencing skills, strong project management experience, along with being proactive and open to driving process improvements.

If you have the relevant skills and experience, are proactive, resourceful, enthusiastic, and want to make a significant contribution to a growing and exciting company, then we want to hear from you. In return, we offer a competitive salary, flexible benefits allowance, employee assistance programme, exciting career opportunities, the ability to work flexibly, as well as 28 days basic holiday plus bank holidays and a contributory pension scheme.
