Job description

We are a technology business operating in the global energy sector.

ENSEK has become the go-to option for top energy suppliers across the globe. Why? Because our technology represents a significant step change away from the legacy systems that have historically dominated the market. It’s also massively cheaper to adopt the ENSEK solution, with no loss in customer service or standards.

But by far the biggest reason why ENSEK is the best choice in energy supplier software is because of the people who work here and their endless enthusiasm, energy, and the way they support their colleagues. All our clients comment on what great people we have. Our people are our superpower.

That is where you come in.

ROLE SUMMARY

Usually reporting to the Product Manager but working directly with the Tribe Product Owners, the Product Analyst takes agreed product initiatives and undertakes analysis of data and requirements to define the details of the feature or product increment. The success metrics of the Product Analyst are based on how well understood and groomed the backlog is for that team. Stories should be sufficiently well defined so that the team can proceed to develop the feature. This requires a detailed understanding of the objectives and outcomes that the feature aims to achieve, with a clear and common understanding across the squad. This will be achieved through high-quality definition and partnering with technical resources in the evolution of the story definition.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Working with the Product Manager/Owner to translate the backlog of initiatives into clearly and well-defined stories.
  2. Engage with engineering team members to align on the implications of the stories and capture these as part of the scope and understanding of the objectives.
  3. Under the guidance of the PO, facilitating stakeholder reviews to capture sufficient details on the customer product requirements, ensuring all parties are fully represented.
  4. Driving the definition of user journeys and the customer experience, working with a design team to deliver wireframes, UX, and owning the concept.
  5. Working with the PO to break down epics into features and PBIs to ensure value is realized at the right time.
  6. Attending team and product initiative meetings, collaborating with the squad, and ensuring all stories are refined, understood, and ready for development.
  7. Planning and scheduling the ‘Ready for Dev’ backlog of stories for the squad to deliver, central to achieving their flow.
  8. Working with the Product Manager to monitor product KPIs and metrics used for measuring the backlog, discussing, and reprioritizing as needed.
  9. Ensuring documentation associated with the product is maintained diligently to ensure visibility and understanding of all software elements.
  10. Adding value to the experience of our clients, colleagues, and stakeholders by practicing and promoting ENSEK values.
  11. Promoting and maintaining a positive, results-oriented work environment, building partnerships and teamwork across the organization.

SOFT & TECHNICAL SKILLS

  1. Excellent communicator with the ability to influence across the business.
  2. Ability to analyze complex product requirements, influencing and persuading others.
  3. Ability to manage multiple projects effectively through planning and organization.
  4. Client-focused approach, demonstrating diplomacy and tact through knowledge and experience.
  5. A flexible attitude and ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment.
  6. Values teamwork, with experience working in a remote team considered advantageous.
  7. Proven ability to engage with and develop strong relationships with customers and stakeholders.
  8. Experience working in an agile environment; experience within Energy/Utilities is advantageous but not essential.
