Job description

We are looking for an experienced, highly organised, and proactive Producer to join Secret Level Studios and help drive the successful delivery of our current and upcoming projects.

This is a hands-on production role for someone who can combine excellent organisation and communication skills with a deep understanding of game development. You will work closely with our Creative Director, team leads, and wider development team to plan and deliver multiple projects, aligning priorities, managing scope, removing blockers, and ensuring teams remain focused on delivering high-quality games. You will also act as the primary point of contact for our publishing partners, ensuring clear communication, alignment, and transparency throughout development.

We are looking for someone who has shipped commercial games, understands the realities of game development, and is comfortable balancing creative ambition with production constraints. You'll be confident in making difficult prioritisation decisions, identifying risks before they become problems, and working collaboratively with both internal teams and external partners to keep projects moving forward.

This is an opportunity to help shape the production culture of a growing independent studio, influencing how our games are planned, developed, and delivered for years to come.

We're looking for someone who believes great production isn't about adding process — it's about giving talented people the clarity, focus, and support they need to make exceptional games.

Responsibilities
  • Own the day-to-day production and successful delivery of multiple game projects.
  • Manage sprints, Jira projects, backlogs, and production planning activities.
  • Build and maintain realistic production schedules, roadmaps, and milestone plans in collaboration with the Creative Director.
  • Work closely with studio leadership to ensure production plans remain aligned with project budgets and resource constraints.
  • Build and maintain a strong working relationship with our publishing partners, ensuring the studio consistently delivers against agreed priorities, milestones, and commitments.
  • Identify production risks early, develop effective mitigation plans, and make informed recommendations on scope, priorities, and trade-offs to protect quality and delivery.
  • Drive projects forward while maintaining transparency, accountability, and clear communication across the studio.
Development Management
  • Act as the central point of communication between design, programming, art, QA, leadership, publishing partners, and off-site freelancers.
  • Ensure everyone has a clear understanding of project priorities, responsibilities, milestones, and deadlines.
  • Facilitate productive meetings, remove blockers, and ensure clear decisions, ownership, and follow-up actions.
  • Foster a collaborative, supportive, and enjoyable development environment and culture where teams can do their best work.
  • Establish and maintain production practices that support sustainable, predictable, and high-quality game development with high team effectiveness.
  • Monitor project health, schedules, and key production metrics to identify trends and support informed decision-making.
  • Maintain clear visibility of project status, communicating progress, risks, and priorities to both internal stakeholders and publishing partners.
  • Contribute to long-term studio planning across multiple projects and support the continued growth of the studio.
  • Help shape production strategy, processes, and ways of working as the studio evolves.
  • Represent the studio in production discussions with publishing partners, ensuring expectations, priorities, and delivery plans remain aligned.
Requirements
Essential skills & experience
  • Proven experience as a Producer, Senior Producer, Development Manager, or in an equivalent production role within a game development team.
  • Proven track record of shipping one or more commercial game titles.
  • Strong understanding of the full game development lifecycle, from concept through to release.
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary game development teams.
  • Experience managing project scope, schedules, risks, dependencies, and milestone delivery.
  • Excellent communication, organisation, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and prioritisation abilities.
  • Ability to balance creative ambition with production realities while maintaining project quality and delivery goals.
  • Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, Kanban, or hybrid production methodologies.
  • Passion for creating memorable games and player experiences.
Highly desirable
  • A passion for game design and a desire to be involved in game design choices.
  • Experience working within independent or AA game studios.
  • Experience managing multiple game projects simultaneously.
  • Experience working closely with publishing partners or external development teams.
  • Experience working within milestone-driven game development and publisher/developer production processes.
  • Experience supporting teams through game launches and post-launch development.
Important to us at SLS
  • Teams always have a clear understanding of priorities, goals, and what success looks like.
  • Risks are identified early and addressed before they impact delivery.
  • Development schedules remain realistic, achievable, and aligned with project goals.
  • Scope is actively managed to protect quality, delivery, and team wellbeing.
  • Healthy discussion and constructive challenge are encouraged to help teams make better decisions and build better games.
  • Communication across the studio and with publishing partners is clear, consistent, and transparent.
  • Production processes enable teams to do their best work without unnecessary overhead.
  • Team members feel supported, informed, and empowered to deliver outstanding games.
