Job summary

Asda Stores Ltd in the United Kingdom is seeking a Technologist - Produce to support food safety, quality, legality, and integrity across the Produce category. You will work with Technical Managers, Buyers, growers, suppliers, and IPL packing sites to ensure products meet high standards.

You will drive improvements in freshness and quality, support sustainability initiatives, and help manage supplier performance to deliver dependable products for customers.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Technical, Quality, Food Safety, or Compliance role in retail, manufacturing, agriculture, or fresh food.
• Strong understanding of food safety principles and quality management systems.
• Analytical skills to interpret data, identify trends, and support evidence-based decisions.
• Excellent communication to explain technical information clearly to stakeholders.
• Strong organisational and prioritisation skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Support food safety, quality, and compliance across the Produce category.
• Manage product specifications, technical docs, and supplier due diligence programmes.
• Investigate product quality and compliance issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Analyze customer feedback, complaints, and KPIs to drive improvements.
• Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to improve freshness, shelf life, and reduce waste.
• Support supplier audits, performance reviews, launches, and sourcing initiatives.
• Contribute to Asda's sustainability and responsible sourcing commitments.
