Job summary

Herbert Parkinson, part of the John Lewis Partnership, seeks a proactive Procurement Assistant for the Darwen site. You will source materials, onboard suppliers, negotiate contracts and strengthen supply chain resilience to deliver value to the business.

The role includes a £4.75 night premium for hours between 22:00 and 06:00 and a permanent contract with a 38.75-hour week at the Darwen office.

Qualifications

• Experience in procurement role with end-to-end sourcing.
• Ability to run tenders and select suppliers.
• Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Support end-to-end tenders for raw materials and GNFR; evaluate and onboard suppliers.
• Assist in sourcing third-party services with internal stakeholders to define scopes and onboard partners.
• Collaborate with Planning & Logistics to identify and mitigate supply chain risks and ensure continuity.
• Surface and deliver cost-saving initiatives to reduce expenditure and expand margins.
• Onboard suppliers with terms, payment windows and service level commitments.
