Job summary

SPEC Engineering Ltd in Leatherhead is seeking an organised Procurement Officer to support the purchasing of equipment, materials and services for projects and operations. You will handle supplier quotations, purchase orders, delivery follow-ups and procurement records.

This role suits someone starting in procurement or with transferable admin, customer service or logistics skills. You will work with UK and international vendors, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery while developing

Qualifications

• GCSEs or equivalent qualification required.
• Clear written and verbal English communication with suppliers.
• Basic computer skills and willingness to learn purchasing or ERP software.

Responsibilities

• Identify suppliers, issue RFQ, obtain offers from UK and international vendors.
• Compare prices, delivery times, payment terms and other conditions; ensure products meet requirements.
• Prepare and process purchase orders and obtain supplier acknowledgements.
• Track outstanding orders and coordinate with suppliers, logistics and project teams for timely delivery.
• Maintain supplier information, quotations, purchase orders and delivery schedules in the purchasing system.
• Assist with resolving shortages, damaged deliveries, invoice discrepancies and related issues.
• Support supplier discussions on pricing and delivery and identify potential savings.
