Job description

Based in Leeds, United Kingdom, this role involves collaboration with a diverse team spread across Denmark, Germany, Poland and Bahrain. You will report to and work closely with our Senior Director of Procurement, Markus Leuschen, on a variety of structural projects and, occasionally, dive into category management or contract negotiations with our external partners.

“In the role as Procurement Project Manager we are looking for a dynamic colleague with a talent for strategic project management, a keen interest in sourcing and/or supply chain, and a passion towards working with a variety of different projects & tasks. You will join our Logistics procurement department, making significant contributions to Arla Foods on a global scale,” says Procurement Sr. Director

How you will make an impact

As a project manager you will engage in projects, applying your procurement skills and insights on strategic, tactical and operational levels, along with supporting the business on ad hoc tasks and analytic initiatives. The main responsibilities:

  • Take an active ownership of projects/initiatives across logistic categories such as: Domestic Distribution, Intermediate and Inbound transportation as well as Warehousing by driving sourcing and supply management activities .
  • Engage in sourcing activities, applying your procurement skills and logistic insight on strategic, tactical and operational levels, along with supporting the business on ad hoc tasks.
  • Apply problem-solving and procurement expertise on strategic, tactical, and operational levels.
  • Potentially manage select logistics categories, with the scope of this responsibility evolving with business needs including traditional category management and commercial & contractual negotiations.

What will make you successful

Your background covers a relevant education, preferably a commercial degree at Master level, supplemented with relevant experience from a similar procurement position and you have a solid understanding of logistic services and logistics flows in an international production company. Alternatively you have solid experience from the logistics industry and have the interest and willingness to use this experience in a procurement organisation and possess a strong drive and willingness to learn and develop. You see yourself as a change agent with a strong drive and a win-win mindset and you are motivated by setting and achieving goals, both independently and as part of a team. You are a team player who excels in a dynamic, international environment with multiple stakeholders. Furthermore you have;

  • Experience in managing projects, ideally within a global context or employer.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build relationships across cultures and diverse backgrounds.
  • An adaptable communication style suited to various organizational levels.
  • A proactive, independent, and collaborative approach to work.
