Job summary

Avanti West Coast is seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to lead procurement across key spend categories and critical contracts, ensuring strategies meet business requirements. You will manage end-to-end tendering, from project initiation to contract handover, acting as a trusted partner to Directors.

Working with FirstGroup Procurement, TOCs and internal stakeholders, you will drive savings, improve efficiency and deliver value for money while upholding robust procurement practices and

Qualifications

• End-to-end procurement process and category management experience.
• Knowledge of Utilities Contracts Regulations 2016 and/or Procurement Act 2023.
• Experience with procure-to-pay and SAP or Neptune.
• Tendering and contract negotiation experience in public/procurement contexts.

Responsibilities

• Lead procurement and contract negotiations across portfolio.
• Develop and implement procurement and category strategies.
• Manage end-to-end tendering in line with Procurement Act 2023 and FirstGroup policies.
• Build relationships with senior stakeholders, suppliers and cross-functional teams.
• Ensure contracts manage cost, risk and compliance with governance.
• Collaborate with FirstGroup Procurement and TOCs to identify savings and efficiencies.
• Provide procurement business partnering guidance on procurement and purchase-to-pay processes.
• Drive continuous improvement, innovation and best practice across the Procurement function.
