Job summary

Downing Renewable Developments (DRD) is seeking an experienced Commercial Procurement Manager to join the Glasgow-based team and lead procurement and contract strategy across major renewable energy projects. You will manage tenders, supplier relationships and commercial evaluations to maximise value and project bankability.

Working with engineering, grid, finance and delivery teams, you will shape commercial strategies for EPC and multi-package contracts, ensure risk is mitigated and value

Qualifications

• Degree qualification in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related discipline.
• Looking for 5 years' experience within renewable energy, infrastructure or capital projects.
• Strong procurement, commercial management or contract administration expertise.
• Experience managing tender processes, contract negotiations and supplier relationships.
• Knowledge of contracting models such as EPC, EPC-M and multi-package contracting.
• Strong commercial, financial and analytical skills.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities.
• Experience within solar PV, wind, battery storage or power infrastructure projects would be highly advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute procurement and contract strategies for renewable energy projects
• Lead tendering processes, supplier selection and contract negotiations for high-value equipment and construction packages
• Prepare commercial evaluations, risk assessments and investment recommendations for senior stakeholders
• Manage supplier and contractor relationships, ensuring strong performance, cost control and contract compliance
• Support project delivery teams during construction, overseeing variations, milestones and payment administration
• Identify opportunities for commercial optimisation, value engineering and cost efficiencies
• Work collaboratively across technical, legal, finance and delivery functions to achieve successful project outcomes
