Job summary

Southern Housing is seeking a Procurement Manager to shape and deliver the annual procurement pipeline. The role involves managing end-to-end procurement projects, engaging stakeholders and influencing commercial decisions to achieve value for money and social value objectives.

The position offers hybrid working with attendance at the Farringdon (London) office for team meetings and options to work from home 3 days per week, with home days agreed with the line manager.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and influencing skills.
• Experience managing end-to-end procurement projects in a public sector or similarly governed environment.
• Understanding of contract terms, commercial risk and contract management.

Responsibilities

• Manage end to end procurement projects across a wide range of goods, services and works contracts.
• Work with stakeholders to understand business needs and develop procurement approaches that deliver value for money and manage risk.
• Manage competitive tender processes, including market engagement, tender documentation, supplier communications, evaluations and contract award.
• Provide procurement advice and guidance on procurement legislation, governance requirements and best practice.
• Support contract mobilisation and establish effective contract management arrangements.
• Embed social value, sustainability and responsible procurement principles into procurement activity.
• Promote opportunities for SMEs, local suppliers and diverse businesses through market engagement activities.
