My client is a leading distributor of plant and equipment into the construction sector. Based in Walsall, they are currently recruiting for a Procurement Manager who will lead the delivery of the procurement service to the business.
Your new role
The Procurement Manager will lead a small team and will be responsible for developing and implementing a procurement strategy focused on delivering a procurement service that maximises cost savings, whilst also ensuring quality and reliability. The Procurement Manager will lead all aspects of the supplier management process, including sourcing, supplier review and selection, negotiating on costs, and supplier performance management. The Procurement Manager will work closely with key internal stakeholders to maximise stock holding, manage obsolete lines and introduce innovative products. The post-holder will draft and manage contractual agreements and will ensure compliance against requirements.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful, you will be a Procurement Manager or Senior Buyer with strong experience of purchasing equipment, plant and PPE to use within the construction sector. It is vital that you have expertise in the delivery of an efficient procurement service and be able to effectively manage supplier performance. You will be able to demonstrate success in leading procurement teams and driving cost management that maximises safety and achieves stock-holding targets.
What you'll get in return
