Job summary

MBDA is seeking a Procurement Subcontract Specialist within the P-PROC team to lead subcontracts for missiles and subsystems, negotiating critical supplier frameworks and guiding commercial decisions. This role involves partnering suppliers to ensure on-time, on-cost, on-quality delivery while supporting MBDA's defence capabilities for Home Nations and allies.

The position requires travel to suppliers in the UK, Europe, and possibly further internationally, with hybrid working and security

Job description

Supporting Research and Development projects, this role requires attention to detail and the ability to negotiate supplier contracts and craft key contractual terms with critical suppliers, alongside delivery of procurement support to technical teams within MBDA. This role is less about buying parts and components and more about understanding the requirements and how suppliers can provide us with their expertise, capabilities and technology. As a Procurement Subcontract Specialist for the Project procurement (P-PROC) team, you will partner our suppliers and enable MBDA to provide world-leading defence capabilities for our Home Nations and their Allies. You will lead subcontracts and obligations across the entire life cycle of missiles and missile systems, project manage the on-time, on-cost, on-quality delivery of high value and sophisticated sub-systems, provide commercial guidance to internal customers and manage risk and opportunity to safeguard the interests of MBDA.
Are you capable of managing critical supplier subcontracts? Can you negotiate contractual frameworks and understand the importance of rigorous contracting? There will be ample opportunities for you to develop within the P-PROC team and across the wider procurement business. You will be required to travel to our suppliers in the UK, Europe and potentially internationally.

  Salary: Circa £45,000-48,000 depending on experience Dynamic (hybrid) working: 2-3 days per week on-site due to workload classification Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS) and Security Check (SC) clearance which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.
