Henderson Brown in West Midlands is seeking a Procurement Manager to own a category portfolio and manage a Buyer. The role is hybrid, offering three days in the office and two days working from home, with a focus on cross-functional collaboration and strategic supplier management.

The successful candidate will have end-to-end procurement experience, the ability to develop category strategies, negotiate with suppliers, and build strong relationships with senior stakeholders.

Qualificações

• End-to-end procurement experience including category strategy, negotiation and supplier management at Procurement Manager or senior Buyer level.
• Category background open to direct or indirect procurement; background flexibility valued.
• Previous people management is an advantage, but open to someone ready for first direct report.

The Opportunity

We're supporting a large, well-established multi-site business with the appointment of a Procurement Manager.

You'll own a category portfolio with significant spend, reporting to the Head of Procurement and managing a Buyer of your own. The business is open on whether your background is in direct or indirect procurement, and the portfolio will be matched to your experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver category strategies that achieve savings, quality and service targets.
• Own category budgets and reforecast monthly, tracking market pricing against contract.
• Negotiate with suppliers and build senior-level relationships with clear performance targets.
• Line manage and develop a Buyer.
• Work with senior stakeholders across the business on cross-functional projects.

What We're Looking For

You'll have end-to-end procurement experience, including category strategy, negotiation and supplier management, at Procurement Manager or strong Senior Buyer level.

Category and industry background are open, direct or indirect. What matters most is adaptability, the ability to juggle several priorities, and building excellent supplier relationships. Previous people management is an advantage, but they're open to someone ready for their first direct report.
