Procurement Manager – Justice Sector

Location: Sale, Greater Manchester or Dartford considered

Are you a strategic thinking construction Senior Procurement Manager who wants to work on the biggest and best projects? Then we have the opportunity for you in our justice sector.

The position requires excellent knowledge of sub-contract experience, including PQQ, tendering, selection, and award. Utilising NEC and JCT type templates and being able to scope out these sub-contract packages is essential.

With a blank canvas, you will be instrumental in developing procurement strategies, policies, and processes. You will draw on your supply chain management skills to enhance the way we work together and deliver a collaborative relationship.

As a Procurement Manager, you will work on the procurement strategy with the Senior Procurement Manager. You will be responsible for the delivery of project procurement objectives and requirements. Are you interested in supporting the procurement and estimating team with tendering, market analysis, and supplier selection? If the answer is yes, check out the duties below.

Duties include:

  • Providing market intelligence, cost advice, supply chain performance management, and feedback.
  • Supporting a team of procurement professionals, including training & development, staff appraisals, retention & reward, and recruitment to provide an effective procurement service for the project.
  • Being responsible and accountable for the procurement process of subcontractors, materials, plant, and services, in accordance with the project procurement strategy and commitments.
  • Providing management information and reports in accordance with project requirements.
  • Developing professional, robust, and effective working relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and service providers to ensure best value.

Supply chain planning

  • Experience of working within the construction industry or similar, with demonstrated knowledge of interfaces and relationships.
  • Ability to manage, plan, and structure operational procurement resources of varying experience and capability.
  • Good communication skills (verbal & written)
  • Ability to deliver robust procurement strategies
  • A measured approach to decision-making and ensuring best value procurement
  • Proven track record of delivering added value through procurement activity

Experience of CIPS or working towards CIPS is desirable (or chartership in another discipline such as CIOB or RICS). Relevant in-job experience is also considered. Candidates should be able to access project offices in Dartford or Manchester.
