Job summary

Portfolio Procurement has been engaged by our Kent based client to recruit for a Procurement Manager. You will lead strategic procurement, advise stakeholders, and drive supplier performance while ensuring compliance and value for money.

The role requires robust leadership, extensive procurement experience in regulated settings, and the ability to manage multiple supplier contracts. A background in CIPS or a degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in a procurement function.
• Demonstrated leadership/people management experience.
• Experience in a highly regulated procurement setting is essential.
• Strong negotiation and supplier management capabilities are required.
• CIPS qualification or a degree-level credential is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implement and uphold procurement policies and procedures.
• Plan and procure services, goods, and equipment for the organisation.
• Manage all supplier contracts and relationships.
• Train and lead other members of the procurement team.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and respond to queries.
• Ensure stock is on site and available when needed.

Key Responsibilities

• To implement policies and procedures
• Plan and procure services, goods, and equipment
• Management of all supplier contracts
• Train and manage other members of the procurement team
• Work closely with internal stakeholders and resolve any queries
• Ensure that all required stock is on site when needed
• Maintain strong relationships with suppliers

Skills and Experience required

• At least 3 years' experience in a Procurement department
• Previous management/leadership experience
• Must have worked in a highly regulated procurement department
• Strong negotiation and supplier management experience
• CIPS or Degree level qualification
