Portfolio Procurement Ltd are recruiting on behalf of a leading Essex-based client for an Indirect Category Manager. You will balance spend categories and manage multiple stakeholders to drive value and efficiency across the business.

The role focuses on sourcing strategy, supplier management, and contract frameworks, with delivery against KPIs in a manufacturing environment. Experience in indirect procurement and data-driven decision making is essential.

Qualifikationen

• Experience managing indirect spend categories across manufacturing environments.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant subject is preferred; MCIPS is advantageous.
• Strong data analysis using Excel and MS Office tools.

Aufgaben

• Control of the sourcing strategy for a selected group of indirect commodities.
• Identify, benchmark, and select new suppliers to deliver your sourcing strategy.
• Manage an established global network of suppliers and contracts to deliver against challenging project schedules.
• Establish contracts and framework agreements to ensure security of supply and delivery of improvements against KPIs.
• Identify alternative sources to reduce supply costs and improve quality.
• Implement and progress effective supplier development plans, yielding tangible improvements.
• Coordinate activities between the business and suppliers to improve performance aligned with operational and business priorities.
• Manage supplier performance, drawing on your experience and performance data to yield consistent improvements.
• Work with project teams to establish procurement requirements and ensure suppliers are managed to deliver against project milestones, specifications, and objectives.

The role:

Main responsibilities:

• Control of the sourcing strategy for a selected group of indirect commodities.
• Identify, benchmark, and select new suppliers to deliver your sourcing strategy.
• Manage an established global network of suppliers and contracts to deliver against challenging project schedules.
• Establish contracts and framework agreements to ensure security of supply and delivery of improvements against KPIs.

Skills and Experience required:

• Specific indirect commodity management experience
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment (preferably low volume / high mix).
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant subject would be advantageous.
• MCIPS qualifications would be advantageous.
• Working with excel to compile and evaluate data will be an important aspect of your role.
• MS Office proficient - Word, Excel, Access, Project, Visio, PowerPoint.
• Managing change in the right way.
