Job summary

BCL Legal Limited is recruiting an experienced Procurement Litigation Solicitor for a leading national law firm in Birmingham at Senior Associate level or above. The role covers complex procurement, public law and commercial disputes with highly flexible hybrid working and exposure to high-value matters.

You will advise on contentious procurement, draft pleadings, supervise junior lawyers and contribute to business development while working with major public-sector clients and central government

Qualifications

• Qualified Solicitor with approximately 5-8 years' PQE.
• Strong experience in procurement litigation and/or public procurement disputes.
• Knowledge of public procurement legislation (Procurement Act 2023; Public Contracts Regulations 2015).
• Experience handling complex commercial disputes/public law litigation.
• Ability to manage matters independently and take responsibility for complex litigation.
• Excellent drafting, research, analytical and advocacy skills.
• Commercial, pragmatic problem-solving and client-management focus.
• Experience supervising junior lawyers and contributing to business development.

Responsibilities

• Advise major corporates and public-sector clients on procurement matters.
• Lead on complex procurement disputes up to High Court level.
• Manage a varied caseload for Claimants and Defendants.
• Draft pleadings and litigation documentation, ensuring high-quality output.
• Supervise junior colleagues and drive client service excellence.
• Develop client relationships and identify new opportunities.
• Collaborate with national teams across procurement, public law and commercial litigation.
