Job summary

BAE Systems in Samlesbury is looking for a Procurement Engineer to join the Supply Chain Operations team on a 6-month contract. You will raise and manage POs, oversee supplier orders from placement to delivery, maintain strong supplier relationships, and monitor performance to ensure uninterrupted production of critical parts.

The role requires strong procurement experience, excellent communication, stakeholder management, and meticulous organisation.

Qualifications

• Previous procurement experience.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent organisation and attention to detail.
• The ability to manage suppliers and resolve issues effectively.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Raise and manage purchase orders.
• Manage the supplier order book from placement through to delivery.
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships.
• Monitor supplier performance and support improvement activities.
• Identify and resolve issues that could impact part availability or production.
• Review stock levels against consumption and current requirements.
• Maintain accurate order book information.
• Provide regular updates to internal stakeholders.
• Work closely with teams across the business to support the production order book.
• Ensure invoices are processed and paid promptly.
• Occasional travel to other UK sites may be required.
