Job description

The Procurement Coordinator - Direct Materials is responsible for managing Procurement activities using Oracle ERP systems. They handle purchase agreements, supplier maintenance, ensuring timely procurement and compliance. They also generate reports, support audits, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline procurement workflows and maintain accurate system records.

This position reports to the Global Category Lead and is part of the Procurement department located in Cambridge UK and will be an on-site role.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Be instrumental to the product enrichment process of setting up new products or making product changes while also attending the Item Creation Weekly Management board. Support the Procurement team with the creation and management of purchase agreements within the Oracle system. Liaising with cross functional teams where required.
  • Apply risk management techniques to ensure appropriate measures are taken to mitigate against financial, reputational, legal, business continuity and performance risk exposure. E.g. running credit checks.
  • Supports cost control by ensuring adherence to negotiated pricing and contract terms. Whilst also negotiating with suppliers.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Business, Science, Operations / Engineering, or Supply Chain Management discipline is preferred but other subjects will be considered. Holder of CIPS or willingness to enroll and complete.
  • 1-2 years of work experience,
  • Creative problem-solving abilities with an orientation towards results with attention to detail.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Oracle or another ERP system
