Job description

The Procurement Coordinator - Direct Materials is responsible for managing procurement activities using Oracle ERP systems. They handle purchase agreements, supplier maintenance, ensuring timely procurement and compliance. They also generate reports, support audits, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline procurement workflows and maintain accurate system records.

This position reports to the Global Category Lead and is part of the Procurement department located in Cambridge, UK. It is an on-site role.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Support the product enrichment process by setting up new products or making product changes, attending the Item Creation Weekly Management Board, and managing purchase agreements within Oracle, liaising with cross-functional teams.
  • Apply risk management techniques to mitigate financial, reputational, legal, business continuity, and performance risks, such as running credit checks.
  • Support cost control by ensuring adherence to negotiated pricing and contract terms, and negotiate with suppliers.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Business, Science, Operations/Engineering, or Supply Chain Management is preferred; other subjects will be considered. CIPS certification or willingness to enroll and complete is a plus.
  • 1-2 years of work experience.
  • Creative problem-solving skills, results-oriented, with attention to detail.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Biotechnology, pharmaceutical, life sciences, or healthcare industries.
  • Oracle or other ERP systems.
